Do your employees know what your organization’s business strategy is? If the answer to this question is negative, you need to start taking action, as this lack of knowledge can have negative consequences that you may already be experiencing.

A study conducted by Harvard Business School and Balanced Scorecard Collaborative found that 95% of the traditional workforce does not understand the strategy of the company they work for. This means that employees cannot perform better or be more productive if they don’t know where they need to direct their efforts, if they don’t have a vision of the company as part of it, with the same objectives and the same path to follow.

In this situation, the role of the leader is essential to create an action plan and organization where the work team knows who the company is, where it is going, and feels part of it. The productivity and efficiency of the organization are closely linked to how involved they are in the activities they carry out.

These goals can be subdivided by work teams, updated according to the work process, and their fulfillment verified.

Communicate the intentions, progress, and details of task development in the company. Interrelation allows workers to pay more attention to processes and get involved in improvement plans; their tasks will be more effective since they know the progress, and the company’s productivity is positively affected.

A system of motivation and incentives is essential for employees to commit to the organization. Beyond economic compensation, work-life balance systems and achievement of recognized objectives also have positive effects on workers who feel valued in their work. The leader must encourage people to perform their tasks but also recognize the efforts and time they dedicate to them.

Make employees feel comfortable to staff involvement

The workplace is also important for employees to feel comfortable, like at home. Feeling safe, calm, and comfortable in the office is a stimulus for the performance of workers. Spacious areas where they share space with colleagues from other departments also allow for communication and encourage relationships between them.
